(Port-Au-Prince, Haití) – The date of June 27, 2018, is now written in gold in the annals of the region of Port-au-Prince. This date coincides not only with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Consecration of Haiti to Our Mother of Perpetual Help but also marks the official transfer of the Region of Port-au-Prince (Region that belonged to the Province of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré since 1984) to the Province of San Juan.

To commemorate this historic event, in the communities, the confreres prayed to the Lord for this new collaboration during the first Vespers of the Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

It is in this sense that the student community (House of St Clement) joined the Monastery of St. Gerard to symbolically celebrate this transfer. Thus, after a detailed presentation of the agreement approved by the General Government, the Regional Superior led the prayer of Vespers with the confreres present. And to close this extraordinary moment, the confreres participated in a fraternal agape organized by the community of St. Gerard.

We thank all the confreres of the Province of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré who have given body and soul to found and consolidate this region. We also thank the Province of San Juan, who has been close to us for many years with fraternal solidarity, especially in difficult times.

We thank God so much because this will allow us to unite all our efforts to continue to be witnesses of Christ the Redeemer and in solidarity in the mission to this wounded world. Finally, a special thanks to the General Government, in particular to Jeffrey Rolle who accompanied us throughout the process. May Our Mother of Perpetual Help come to our aid and help us in this new missionary collaboration.
