(Santander, Spain) – The first temporary profession of Javier Arenal Pardo CSsR took place in the parish of the Redemptorist Missionaries of Santander on Sunday 9th September. A day of grace for the Congregation that sees how the Lord continues to call young people to follow him announcing the overflowing Redemption.

Javier, of Santander, professed in his parish and among his parishioners, in the presence of his parents, relatives, and friends. He was joined by the professed Redemptorists from different parts of the Province.  The Lay Missionaries of the Most Holy Redeemer from Madrid, as well as the youth of, for example, the parishes of Zaragoza or Mérida were present. Javier will continue his studies in Rome, Italy next year.

The diocese of Santander was also represented by Fr. Jesús Casanueva, of the Secretariat of the Pastoral Care for the Deaf of the Diocese, as well as the young Ramón Gómez Ruiz who represented the seminarians.

The provincial superior, Fr. José Luis Bartolomé, pointed out that of Santander is as a greater community, but it was in his bosom that the Lord also called today the youngest member of the Province.

It was exciting to witness the generosity of a 20-year-old youth. It was exciting to see him translate during the celebration in sign language to bring the Lord even to those who do not listen.

We thank God for his Yes, and we ask for him, for his faith, strength, and fidelity during the period of formation and studies that lies ahead. May St. Alphonsus and Our Lady of Perpetual Help guide and accompany you always.
