The cornerstone for a new foundation of the new Redemptoristine monastery in Thailand, was blessed on August 11, 2014, during a special ceremony.
The founding members of the new foundation – Sr. Joan, Sr. Maria Celeste, Sr. Weena Marie and Sr. Maria Supawadee – left the monastery in Liguori for Thailand in 2011. After the hard work of three years, the sisters are very close to their dream to be materialized.
Bishop Chusak Sirisut of Korat, who donated land for the new monastery, warmly welcomed many priests, religious and friends to the ceremony. He asked Sr. Joan to explain that the invitation to come to Thailand was issued by the Thai Redemptorists, following in the tradition established by St. Alphonsus, who invited Mother Maria Celeste and the newly founded Redemptoristines to begin in his Diocese of St. Agatha of the Goths, Italy. Sr. Joan thanked the Redemptorists and Bishop Chusak, the many friends and benefactors, the sisters and priests, all of whom have been welcoming and helpful to the new foundation of the Redemptoristines in Thailand.
