Last December 3 – 9, 2014, the first meeting of the Central Preparatory Commission for the XXV General Chapter took place in Rome. In addition to the members of the Commission, those tasked with preparing a Working Document for the Chapter were also present. During the course of the meeting, the responses from the Questionnaire sent out to the communities of the Congregation last May 2014, were examined. The responses will provide the necessary information for the authors of the Working Paper to begin their work. In addition, the Commission were given a presentation of what to expect in terms of facilities at the venue for the Chapter, the Redemptorist Centre, Pattaya, Thailand. Work was also undertaking in relation to the initial planning for Phase I of the General Chapter, at Conference level, which is due to begin in January 2016. By the end of the meeting it was clear that much work still needs to be undertaken and no doubt communities will be hearing from the Preparatory Commission in the near future.
