on the 21st June 2014 Hawkstone Hall, the Redemptorist International Pastoral Centre in Shropshire, hosted Wholly Holy an event advertised as providing
“Keynote speakers, Reflection, Discussion, Food, Mass, Adoration and Time out in beautiful surroundings.”
It lived up to this, the day was beautuful both meteriologically and more importantly spiritually. Although some participant had taken the opportunity to stay overnight in the most arrived on the day to be greeted by Fr. Maurice (the Rector), Susan and Patrick. Susan and Patrick provided everyone with name labels, took payment for the day and directed people towards the refectory. In the refectory refreshments including the ever popular bacon sandwiches were provided, which proved most welcome to those who had set out early and were feeling very hungry.
The day proper started at 10.00am, Bishop Ralph had travelled the furthest to get there. Some younbg people from Hallam where Bishop Ralph will soon be installed as Bishop had made the trip, and they were joined by representatives of Bishop Eton Young Adult Group, Erdington Young Adult Group, Redemptorist Publications and a variety of Religious including Brother James of the De la Mennais brothers, Sr Bridget Folkard of the Sisters of St Mary of Namur, Sister Frances Kelly of the Sisters of Nazareth, Sister Catherine from the Pauline book store in Liverpool.
