How are they through pastoral care, conversation, assistance and crisis intervention. The emergency pastoral care Bonn / Rhein-Sieg is an ecumenical initiative of the two major churches. Catholic and Protestant pastors have teamed up with other psychosocial professionals and specially trained volunteers in emergency counseling. All of them have undergone comprehensive training and, in addition, have been prepared specifically for this task through further education and internships.
The emergency counseling service Bonn / Rhein-Sieg is available around the clock, 365 days a year, and can be alerted by the emergency services, the fire brigades, the ambulances and the police if people need acute support and crisis assistance. We are responsible for the psycho-traumatological and pastoral acute care and care of all victims and survivors after accidents and sudden deaths. In 2018 the team responded to 364 situations, went on scene to help people and to care for them.
We offer our support to all victims, regardless of their denominational or religious background. Our main task is the immediate crisis intervention and accompaniment in the first hours of the crisis. One redemptorist is the catholic leader oft the whole project and active since 2000, another Redemptorist of the Redemptorist community of Bonn is a member of the Team. This is our answer to the call of our wounded world.
