From June 18 to July 7, the Oblate Sisters are celebrating their 23rd General Chapter under the motto: “Born again… forging the future with hope” in Ciempozuelos.
The Congregation of the Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer began their 23rd General Chapter from June 18 which continues till July 7, 2025. The meeting takes place at the Congregation’s Motherhouse in Ciempozuelos, Madrid, and brings together 40 sisters from around the world.
During these sessions, the new General Team will be elected, which will guide the life of the congregation for the next six years. New lines of action will also be defined, aimed at strengthening the Oblate mission in the current context.
The motto that accompanies this Chapter, “Being Born Again… Forging the Future with Hope,” arises from the invitation to, like Nicodemus (cf. Jn 3:3-8), prepare ourselves as a community for a change of mentality and heart, to rekindle our vocation as consecrated women, and to revitalize the meaning of fraternal life, of sending and mission, rooted in Jesus our Redeemer. From Him, we will forge a future with hope, also responding to the need to make adjustments in our organization that generate life and help us live in an evangelical way that is consistent with our reality.
As on previous occasions, some celebrations will be livestreamed. The opening Eucharist will be celebrated on June 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the Motherhouse church and can be followed live on the congregation’s YouTube channel. The closing Eucharist will take place on July 7, also with a livestreamed Eucharist from the same location. Throughout the Chapter, news and content will be shared through the official website and social media (Facebook: Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer).
