In response to the isolation caused by the 2020 lockdown, Redemptorist Publications in England launched an online Mass initiative. This endeavor was aimed at providing a sense of community and spiritual connection to those who were unable to attend Mass in person.
What began as a small project quickly blossomed into a global community. The weekly petitions and online comments opened up avenues for conversations and provided a platform for members to support each other. This sense of community has flourished beyond the initial expectations, creating a shared space of faith and belonging.
“This, dear friends, is your community, this is your faith, this is your garden, this is your home,” says Fr. Denis McBride CSsR, who usually celebrates the Mass, in a short video as he thanks the producers, guests, and all community members for their support during those several years.
“Although Sunday Masses are now being celebrated in parish churches, Redemptorist Publications is pleased to continue to offer Sunday Mass online, especially for those who cannot yet return to their parish church.” – one can read under the YouTube video and feel invited to listen to faith reflections and connect to this online community.
