The Redemptorist North America Formation Board met at the interprovincial novitiate in Tlalpizáhuac, Mexico on August 19-20. Board members include the major superiors of the North American units along with the Conference Coordinator, Fr. Jerome Chavarria. Circumstances prevented Fr. Santo Arrigo, Provincial Superior of Canada, from attending in person, although he participated in all the meetings via Zoom. As always, the novices and their directors proved to be excellent hosts, making sure the visitors remained well-fed and fully caffeinated.

The gathering gave the (vice) provincials an opportunity to catch up with the novices from their units and share news from home. Although the novices have known each other for only a month, they already enjoy lively camaraderie and have embraced the grand tradition of karaoke during festive times. Inspired by the novices’ boldness, each (vice) provincial took a turn at the mic.

Please keep our novices in your prayers as they continue their year of prayer, learning, and discernment. Confreres are always welcome to visit just be sure to have a song ready to sing!

Fr. Kevin Zubel, C.Ss.R.
