On September 20, 2025, the Province of Europe South experienced a time of joy and celebration for the perpetual profession of José Daniel Torrubia Sánchez, C.Ss.R. It was a very special event not only for him, but also for the entire Congregation.

Already the day before, we had been able to experience fraternity with the Redemptorists and lay people who had come from various parts to the Spanish city of Seville. At the end of the day, the Christian community, together with the brothers and the Redemptorist family, accompanied Daniel in a prayer vigil where we prayed for him and for his vocation in the silence of prayer and contemplation.

The following day, the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Father Provincial Gennaro Sorrentino, C.Ss.R., was attended by numerous Redemptorists (including Provincial Councillors Alberto Eseverri, C.Ss.R., and Francisco J. Caballero, C.Ss.R.), as well as religious from other congregations. With the church filled with family, friends, and Christian faithful, one could sense from the very first moment the welcome and enthusiasm that this day had inspired among the Redemptorists of Europe South.

During his homily, the Provincial encouraged Daniel, and all of us, to live our vocation through dedication and service, serving God, to whom we consecrate ourselves and to whom we give our whole heart, so that we may serve the world, especially the poorest and most abandoned. It was an invitation to give ourselves courageously, answering “yes” to the Lord who once loved us and called us, to become instruments of his Redemption for others; instruments of the love of God, who desires that all men be saved.

Daniel also offered a few words of thanks at the end of the Eucharist, thanking God for the gift of his vocation, for the gift of fraternity, for the Congregation, and for his family and friends, who were the instrument for discovering, discerning, deepening, and reaffirming his perpetual “yes” to the God who one day called him to live in abundance.

We thank the community of Seville, Redemptorists and lay people, for their hospitality and preparation for such a special day and such a heartfelt celebration. Through him, we were all able to remember and reaffirm our profession and our vocation, knowing that the mission, together with our brothers, gives us life and is a gift and a priceless treasure from God. We also thank all those who could not be present, but who supported and continue to support Daniel and all Redemptorists in prayer, asking for our perseverance and dedication to the mission.

We entrust our new perpetually professed brother to the intercession of Holy Mary, our Perpetual Help, of Saint Alphonsus, and of all the blessed and martyrs of the Congregation, so that he and all of us may continue faithfully, with missionary dynamism, to follow the call to faithfully follow Jesus Christ the Redeemer.
