On June 22, the General Government began its canonical visit in the Province of Curitiba, which spans three regions of Brazil—North, Center-West, and South. Two visitors began their journey from Manaus, in the North, while two others departed from Porto Alegre, in the South. The four will finally meet in Curitiba, the provincial capital.
The General Government’s visit to the Province of Curitiba began on June 22. Given the vast area of the province, which encompasses three distinct regions of Brazil—North, Center-West, and South—the visitors were divided into two groups. In the North region, the two General Government delegates, Fr. Inácio Medeiros CSsR and Fr. Andrzej Kukla CSsR, began their journey in Manaus, visiting, among other places, the formation houses of the “Dom Jacson” Juniorate and the “Viva Memória” Postulancy, as well as communities and cities in the Amazon region, including Iranduba, Manacapuru, Rio Branco, and Feijó.
In the Southern Region, Fr. Cesar Pantoja CSsR, coordinator of the Latin America and Caribbean Conference, and Br. Larry Lujan CSsR, General Consultor, departed from Porto Alegre, where they met with their confreres in the Formation House and visited the local shrine. The journey then took them to Passo Fundo, with a visit to the “Menino Deus” School, and subsequently to the communities of Lages and Bom Retiro, in Guaratuba, and in Paranaguá. An important halt was Curitiba, where the visitors took part in a meeting with their confreres in the Provincial House and a gathering with the laity.

These are days marked by encounters, sharing, listening, and mutual understanding. Moments of fellowship and warm welcome are characterizing this time of visit.
The Province of Curitiba stands out for the great variety of its activities: it has 25 parishes, 8 sanctuaries, a traveling missionary team, formation houses, social commitment works, a school, farms dedicated to the treatment of chemical addictions, as well as other initiatives in the field of communication.
