St. Clement on a tourist memory stamp

(Bardo, Poland) Thanks to the initiative of Fr. Leszek Zabdyr C.Ss.R. and the Redemptorist community in Bardo, an occasional tourist stamp was issued to commemorate the Jubilee Year. Its title reads “2020 – The Year of Saint Clement Hofbauer, an Apostle of Warsaw and Vienna, a patron of bakers”.

As you can see on the photo, the stamp has different graphics on both sides. On one side we see the figure of St. Clement as the patron saint of bakers, and on the other side the coat of arms of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. It refers to the fact, that due to St. Clement the Redemptorists went from Italy to Poland in the late 18th century.

Tourist stamps (known also as memory stamps) are wooden plaques which depict an attractive tourist destination.

This stamp is already available from Redemptorists in Bardo, Poland. We hope that soon it be available in Krakow and in other places too.

We cordially invite stamp collectors to visit Bardo and get another stamp.
