The future Unit for Central America and the Caribbean, from June 5 to 9, 2023, opened another strengthening link that benefits the consolidation of awareness of common work that transcends borders.

The confreres with less than ten years of perpetual vows met in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic at the Youth and Family Integral Formation Center (CEFIJUFA) of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo. They were accompanied by the PP. Luis Adorno Lopez, C.Ss.R. and Kénol Chéry, C.Ss.R. along with the help of the confreres working in the Dominican Republic.

In this first meeting, the richness and importance of community life, the respectful recognition of the diversity of each individual that forges the communities, the commitment to forge an assertive communication, the importance of living a genuine spirituality and awareness of the difficult scenarios that our confreres live in Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua. All of this was experienced in a fraternal environment that made integration possible, breaking preconceptions and prejudices. Without forgetting the wealth of being able to pray and celebrate together from the respective geographical areas. Undoubtedly, continuing with the consolidation of what has already been experienced during the processes of initial formation, provokes a renewed enthusiasm for the grace of knowing that we are brothers in the experience of the same charism.

Fr. Edgar Luis Torres-Santos, C.Ss.R.
