Last Friday, December 15, His Eminence Cardinal Leopoldo José Brenes, Metropolitan Archbishop of Managua, ordained our confrere Bismark Antonio Garmendiz Matus, C.SS.R., as a priest.

The ordination took place in the Parish of the Most Holy Redeemer in Managua during the Eucharist presided by the Cardinal, with the presence of Fr. Raphael Thierry, C.SS.R, provincial superior, and several confreres from the zone.

The new priest has been appointed parochial vicar at the Holy Trinity Parish in the Eastern Zone and of the Most Holy Redeemer Parish in the Central Zone of the capital of Nicaragua.

May the Redeemer always bless the work of the Redemptorist missionaries, especially in this challenging area of Central America.

Bismark Antonio Garmendiz Matus, C.SS.R., began discerning the Redemptorist vocation in 2012. He studied at the Catholic University in Costa Rica and then in San Salvador. In 2018, he took his religious vows and, on March 18, ordained deacon.
