Deacons Vincent Gerard Thanh Vu, Paul Vinh Nguyen, and Vincent Martin Tinh Nguyen join the order of priesthood.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Houston, Texas, became the site of a significant milestone for the Catholic Church and the Redemptorist community. Vincent Gerard Thanh Vu, Paul Vinh Nguyen, and Vincent Martin Tinh Nguyen were ordained as priests, marking a new chapter in their spiritual journey and service.
Archbishop Joe Vasquez of Galveston-Houston presided the Ordination ceremony, offering words of inspiration to the new priests and attendees. He recalled the missionary legacy of St. Alphonsus, emphasizing how consecrating ourselves to God means becoming a living sacrifice. The Archbishop reminded everyone that ordination is not the end but the beginning—a starting point for a lifetime of service and dedication.
This Ordination is not only a personal achievement for the new priests but also a great benefit to the universal Church and the Redemptorist Congregation. The Vice Province of Extra Patriam expresses gratitude for God’s continued blessing of vocations, highlighting the importance of new leaders in sustaining and expanding the Church’s mission.
The entire community, both local and international, celebrates the Ordination of Vincent Gerard Thanh Van Vu, Paul Vinh Xuan Nguyen, and Vincent Martin Tinh Tri Nguyen. Their commitment to serve as priests will enrich the spiritual life of the faithful and strengthen the legacy of the Redemptorists.
As Archbishop Vasquez eloquently noted, these newly ordained priests now embark on their journey of ministry, carrying forward the values and traditions of the Church. The ceremony in Houston stands as a testament to hope, renewal, and the enduring call to vocation.
