Meeting of Formators of the Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean

(Sao Paulo, Brazil) The meeting of formators of the Conference took place from July 15 to 19, 2019 at Sao Paulo, Brazil. In compliance with the mandate of the General Chapter, the Coordination of the Conference proposed a meeting of the Formators at the Conference level to the Extraordinary Assembly of Goiás. When this proposal was accepted, the date of July 14 to 19 was set in Aparecida.

During the meeting of May, the Commission prepared the meeting in Bogotá – Colombia, thinking to begin the evaluation process, requested by the General Chapter, and obtain indications to begin the process of preparing the Ratio Formationis of the Conference.

Theme: The Future of the Redemptorist Formation in the Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Restructuring for the Mission and its Challenges for Formation;
  • The Reality of Formation in the Congregation and Projects at the General Government Level;
  • Formation based on the Profile of the Restructured Redemptorist, the Option for the Poor and the Redemptorist Mission in a Wounded and Secularized World;
  • Proposal for Evaluation and Update of the Formative Processes.

To present the themes and their contents, the following confreres were invited: Fr. Manny Rodríguez (Executive Secretary for the Formation of the General Government); Fr. Rogério Gomes (General Consultor of Latin America and the Caribbean) and Fr. José Ulysses da Silva (Province of São Paulo).

The meeting was designed mainly for the vocation promoters, trainers and coordinators of the Training Secretariats and representatives of Continuing Education.

The total number of the participants was 61, of all the units of the Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean, in a fraternal environment, of work and joy, the challenge of the restructuring and reconfiguration of the C.Ss.R. was shared with great hope.
