(Belfast, Northern Ireland) Summer Outreach is faith in action project that takes place every July on the streets around the Redemptorist Church and Monastery in inner city Belfast working with families and lots of Children.

Young People who volunteer and their Leaders are inspired by the Redeemer as well as the patrons of the project St Alphonsus and St Gerard. The week is a wonderful expression of faith with lots of joy and laughter.

Each morning the volunteers gathering to pray, reflect and energise for the day ahead. The Team were commissioned at the 11 am Sunday Mass on 14th July at the beginning of this special week of Redemptorist Youth Ministry Service. Fr John Hanna C.Ss.R was the celebrant of the Mass.

This year we welcomed youth ministry staff and volunteers from the Redemptorist communities in Cork and Dundalk as well as a young man from France called Hugo. We also had two of our German Volunteers with us. Altogether 40 young people volunteered.

After this week, Clonard people were smiling—the streets had been cleaned and the children of Clonard are very happy. They enjoyed street games, fun days out and much more. To the young volunteers of Clonard Youth Ministry Summer Outreach we say a big thank you for their enthusiasm and dedication and we pray God’s blessing on them all.

Congratulations Team 2019.
