A few days after the devastating explosion, Beirut is still estimating losses and organizing life of the inhabitants. The Redemptorist fathers, who serve in the Lebanese capital city, are contributing to help the victims of this explosion. – We could feel that being with the people we are fulfilling our mission in the wounded world – says Fr. Binoy Mandapathil, mission superior.

– After the event we see the Lebanese people organise some groups to clean up and make necessary arrangements for the area. Most of the victims are living in others house. There is no electricity and water. The immediate help is to provide them food and water. Today we could give our small contribution to 100 people by providing them food and water. People received it with tears in their eyes. They requested us to help them also in giving medicine and repairing their broken houses. Walking from house to house we could experience how people can survive this trauma. Everyone is telling that it is God  who saved us. In multi religious and multiconfessional society here after pain touched the person the division doesn’t exist. We could feel that being with the people we are fulfilling our mission in the wounded world.
