The COVID-19 pandemic is a disaster that is afflicting all of us.  But at the same time, this pandemic can be a blessing.  We, too, must find a way to exist in our ministry.

Over the past few months, the Redemptorist Youth Center and Mission Team have developed SOLID and SOLIDER programs.  This is a program that begins by paying attention to young people’s personal qualities so that they become solid. With that, they become solid individuals in their involvement in the church and society.

On August 27-29, 2021, we organized a youth camp with the theme: “GROWING AND ROOTS IN CHRIST”.  This activity was held at Uma Pande (smart House), Ronda Dikira, Sumba Indonesia.  The concept of activity is outbound.  There were 21 young people involved.  The Redemptorist Youth Mission Team hosts this Youth Camp.

The purpose of this outbound is to increase the participants’ familiarity and find the qualities needed by themselves in leading themselves dan their group.  This activity is a continuation of various seminars that have been attended by them for the last few months.

“By joining this camp, I feel more familiar with my friends, and I can get out of my comfort zone,” said Jumi.“

“With this Outbound, I feel that there is a platform where I can share with others and learn to interpret my life from a better perspective, especially seeing it in the light of God,” said Tias.

All activities ended with the Eucharistic celebration together with the people around Umma Pande.
