For the first time in history, two Redemptorists from Indonesia have been appointed to work in the Dutch-speaking part of the Province of St. Clemens (The Netherlands and Flanders, Belgium). This is the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Province of Indonesia and St. Clemens, signed in 2018. Under this memorandum, some other Indonesian confreres are already living, working, and/or studying in Germany. Two of them even transferred their membership to our Province.

The Fathers, Ferdi Djaga Kota (1979) and Ricky Misi (1991) arrived in The Netherlands on the 10th of April, 2022. For the time being, they will live in the community in Wittem, in the South of the Netherlands (see photo). This is a pilgrimage center for St. Gerard and Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

In the first month, they will dedicate themselves to learning the Dutch language, the local culture and the projects in the Province of St. Clemens. The community in Wittem is glad to receive Fr. Ferdi and Ricky and will give them – together with the many partners in mission working at the pilgrimage center – all their support for successful integration.

On the first day in Wittem, they were already welcomed by their Indonesian confreres from Bonn, Germany.
