(India) Fr. Bibin John Ottaplackal, a member of the Liguori province in India embarked on a transformative journey into legal studies in the year 2020. Committed to the pursuit of justice and equality, he successfully completed his degree in civil law and on September 26, 2023, officially became a member of the Bar Council of Delhi, India. With this accomplishment, he has now stepped into the realm of advocacy, a call within the call.

Fr. Bibin has aligned himself with the esteemed Center for Human Rights and Law (CHRL) at the Indian Social Institute in New Delhi, where he gets an opportunity to passionately dedicate his skills and expertise to advocate for the rights of the underprivileged and marginalized. In addition to his role at CHRL, Fr. Bibin has the privilege of working under the guidance of two distinguished advocates of the Supreme Court of India, further enhancing his legal acumen and understanding of the intricate legal landscape.

Inspired by the founder of the Redemptorists, Saint Alphonsus Liguori, who himself was an advocate and a beacon for the downtrodden, Fr. Bibin aspires to mirror this legacy of compassion and advocacy. Drawing from Saint Alphonsus Liguori’s dedication to championing the cause of the poor and oppressed, Father Bibin envisions a path where his legal practice is infused with purpose, echoing the values of justice, fairness, and standing up for those in need.
