The ribbon cutting ceremony held on October 16, coinciding with the feast of Saint Gerard, the Refectory of Casa San Alfonso in Rome was inaugurated. This event marks an important milestone in the ambitious renovation project of the house, aimed at revitalizing its facilities and improving the quality of life of its residents.

The ceremony was attended by the Superior General, who together with the members of the renovation commission, emphasized the importance of this project not only in terms of infrastructure, but also as a space of meeting and fraternity for those who reside in this international community. The professionals in charge of the renovation work and the legal representative of the construction company were also present, highlighting their commitment to the development of the project.

The new refectory, modernized and welcoming, promises to be a place where the brothers can enjoy a friendly and warm environment. This space has been designed with the comfort and well-being of all in mind, thus fostering a sense of community among the brothers of the house and those who come to dine in community.

The inauguration of the refectory is only part of a larger project, which is developing, and which aims to transform the Casa San Alfonso in Rome into an even more welcoming and functional place, reaffirming its commitment to the assistance and care of the brothers who reside there and visit it.

It should be noted that the Commission for the Renovation of the Casa San Alfonso is composed of Rev. Fr. Franciszek Stanula, C.Ss.R. Vicar General, Rev. Fr. Giovanni Congiu, C.Ss.R. Rector of the Casa San Alfonso, Rev. Fr. Vicente Soria Fleitas, C.Ss.R. General Treasurer, Rev. Fr. Antonio Pupo, C.Ss.R. Treasurer of the Casa San Alfonso and Rev. Fr. Ronival Dos Reis, C.Ss.R. Prefect of the Sanctuary of Perpetual Help in Rome. This Commission closely follows the development of the renovation activities. In its last meeting on 10/14/2024, the Commission with the responsible professionals: the designer, the architect Giacomo Cajano Saffi, the Director of Safety in the executive phase, Engineer Alessandro Bonuso and the Legal Representative of the construction company Mr. Domenico Ruggieri, assessed the progress of the works. The progress of the work, although it has undergone some changes, has not compromised the established date of the global timetable. The renovation work is expected to end in early 2025.
