On November 14, the diaconal ordination of Brother Fernando Marcelo López Gutiérrez CSsR, originally from Chile, took place during the Eucharist presided over by Monsignor José Slaby CSsR, Bishop of the territorial prelature of Esquel, concelebrated by Father Javier Machado CSsR, provincial, and several priests present at the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes (Quilmes, Buenos Aires), Argentina.
More than 15 Redemptorist priests and religious brothers from various countries (Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Argentina) were present at this important moment for Redemptorist life.
Students from the formation house in La Plata were present, as were the novice brothers who are residing this year in the community of Bella Vista, Buenos Aires. His parents and relatives also experienced it with great emotion, making a great effort to be present at this important step in Fernando’s life. The parish community was also present, making possible the warm welcome of all those who came from outside and the organization of the ordination and the reception of the new deacon.
These are the moments that unite us and bring joy to all of us as a family. They help us to continue praying and encouraging everyone in this vocational work. We ask God to take care of Deacon Fernando and make him a great servant of the people. May Mary of Perpetual Help, mother of the missionaries, give him her love and company to live his missionary life.
