On Saturday, June 28, 2025, a solemn Mass was celebrated on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Gliwice. The Mass was presided over by Monsignor Jan Kopiec, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Gliwice, who in 2015 awarded the Redemptorist Church the honorary title of Shrine.

Among the guests present were Fr. Sylwester Cabała, provincial consultor of the Province of Warsaw, Fr. Eugeniusz Leśniak CSsR, and the community of the Redemptorist Major Seminary of Krakow with Fr. Wacław Zyskowski CSsR, prefect. The common prayer of the clergy, seminarians, faithful and people connected to the pastoral activities of the sanctuary was a moment of profound thanksgiving for the gift of the last ten years.

The history of the Sanctuary dates back to significant events for the parish, such as the coronation of the icon of the Madonna on June 22, 2014. A year later, thanks to the efforts of the parish priests and the entire community, the sanctuary was elevated to the rank of a diocesan sanctuary.

Fr. Piotr Świerczok CSsR, then parish priest, played a special role in this process. His zeal and dedication contributed to the creation of the sanctuary. However, the creation of the sanctuary would not have been possible without the work of many generations of Redemptorists, who served in the Gliwice community, contributing to the development of pastoral ministry and the spread of devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Today, the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Gliwice is a living community of faith. Weekly novenas, devotions, pilgrimages, and individual prayer ensure that this place remains a space of encounter with God and with Mary, the Mother who constantly helps.

The tenth anniversary was an occasion to be grateful for all that has happened in these years. We trust that Our Lady will continue to guide all those who turn to her, entrusting their lives, their worries, and their hopes to her.
