The week of celebrations began on the evening of July 1st at the Marian shrine in Tuchów, where the Redemptorists have been present for over 130 years. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Mgr. Piotr Kleszcz, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Łódź, who also gave a moving homily to the gathered pilgrims.
As per tradition, on the first day the celebrations were attended by firefighters and representatives of musical bands from all over the region. Dressed in gala uniforms, with banners, they presented themselves before Our Lady of Tuchów, entrusting their lives, their service, and their families to her.
In his homily, Msgr. Piotr Kleszcz recalled the special relationship between Mary and Jesus and called the faithful to follow her example: “Love Jesus with the heart of Mary.”
At the end of the homily, he urged the participants in the liturgy to share their faith and hope with others, in their families and in their neighbourhoods.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Tuchów will host thousands of pilgrims in the coming days of the feast. Daily reports, broadcasts and photos are available on the social media ( Facebook ) of the shrine.
