Last Monday, on April 6, the Parish of Saint Gerard in Asunción, Paraguay, celebrated with great fervor the 300th anniversary of the birth of St Gerard.
The Jubilee celebration began with the celebration of Holy Mass, presided over by the parish priest, Father Leonardo Valdez, C.Ss.R., and concelebrated by several Redemptorist missionaries. Also present were seminarians from the Pedro Donders Formation House, accompanied by their formators, Fathers Miguel Ángel Martínez and Gustavo Doldán.
The devotees of Saint Gerard filled the church, which proved too small for the fervent influx of faithful.
Following the Holy Mass, a folklore festival was held in honor of Saint Gerard, featuring talented artists who offered their art to pay homage to the most popular of the Redemptorist saints.
