The fraternal visit of the General Government of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer to the Andean Caribbean Province, which comprises the northern part of South America: Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador, is taking place these days and extends until May 29, 2026.
The General Government is represented by Fathers Gerardo Hernández Carrasquillo, C.Ss.R., General Consultor; Joseph Ivel Mendanha, C.Ss.R., General Consultor; César Torres Pantoja, C.Ss.R., Coordinator of the Latin American and Caribbean Conference; and Jerome Chavarría, C.Ss.R., Coordinator of the North American Conference. Together they visit communities and tour the various mission sites where the Redemptorists of the Province work.
Below are some photos from the visit to the community of St. Alphonsus Major Seminary and the Most Holy Redeemer Parish in Bogotá, Colombia, where Fathers Gerardo Hernández and Jerome Chavarría were present (May 8-11). Meanwhile, Father Ivel Mendanha and Father César Torres Pantoja were able to meet and celebrate Mass with the community of St. Joseph Parish in Barquisimeto, Venezuela (April 25).
This fraternal visit constitutes a personal encounter between the General Government of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer and the confreres of the Andean Caribbean Province, during which the superiors visit the houses and the members under their care to listen, encourage and guide in the areas of apostolic and community life, and to obtain a realistic vision of the Congregation in the world.
It is worth remembering that the Andean Caribbean Province was erected on December 8, 2023, as a result of the restructuring process that brought together the Vice-Province of Caracas and the Provinces of Quito and Bogotá into a single Redemptorist unit.
