From August 10 to 13, 2026, 25 participants—including Provincial Superiors, Provincial Treasurers, and formation leaders of the Redemptorist Units of Latin America and the Caribbean gather at the Provincial House of the Andean-Caribbean Province in Bogotá, convened by the General Government of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, to explore the theme of an administration faithful to the Gospel, transparent, and at the service of the mission.
The General Government of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, led by Fr. Vicente Soria Fleitas, General Treasurer, Fr. Gerardo Hernández, General Consultor, and Fr. Maiko Deffaveri, Assistant to the General Treasurer, conduct the seminar “Gospel, Administration and Financial Management ” at the Provincial House of the Andean-Caribbean Province in Bogotá, Colombia, from August 10 to 13, 2026, a space for reflection and formation aimed at promoting responsible, transparent administration that is truly at the service of the mission.
The meeting brought together 25 participants, including Provincial Superiors, Provincial Treasurers, and formation leaders from various Redemptorist Units in Latin America and the Caribbean. Their joint presence expresses a fundamental belief of the Congregation today: the administration of our goods must be based on the Gospel and faithful to the apostolic choices of the Congregation and the Church.
One of the central themes of the meeting was the presentation and in-depth analysis of the Congregation’s Administration and Economic Management Manual, which offers principles, criteria, and procedures for orderly, responsible, and transparent management. Building on this tool, the administrative experiences of the various Units in Latin America and the Caribbean were also shared, recognizing the diverse economic, legal, and social contexts in which the Redemptorist mission is carried out.
Another key aspect is investments. In this context, the guidelines offered by the Church have also been taken into consideration to ensure that economic decisions are consistent with its social doctrine and evangelizing mission, particularly the criteria proposed in Mensuram Bonam. It is important to be clear about the fundamental criteria: where and how to invest and how our economic decisions bear witness to the values of the Gospel.
Responsible stewardship means caring for the assets entrusted to the Congregation to support the mission, assist the confreres, train new generations of missionaries, and continue to serve the poor and abandoned in a special way.
The seminar also provided an opportunity to look to the future. One of the challenges we faced was the need to strengthen a true administrative and economic culture in our student and member formation processes.
Transparency, reporting, planning, co-responsibility, and care for our common heritage are concrete expressions of a responsible, consecrated life and a mission carried out in communion.
At the heart of these days is also the celebration of the Eucharist, in which reflection and daily work are presented to the Lord. In prayer during these days, particular attention has been paid to the Colombian people and the communities affected by the recent earthquake in the Chocó region and other affected areas, expressing closeness, prayer, and solidarity with those suffering the consequences of this event.
