On Friday, September 18, 2026, the Redemptorist Mission of Kenya joyfully celebrated the ordination to the diaconate of three Redemptorist brothers at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist, Karen: Cornelius Oketch Gwaao, Samuel Ng’ang’a Nduta, and Humphrey Wekesa Makhanu.
The celebration took place together with the diaconal ordination of thirteen Holy Spirit Brothers (Congregation of the Holy Spirit), for a total of sixteen new deacons.
The ceremony brought together families, friends, priests, religious and lay faithful, who came to witness and rejoice in this grace-filled moment on the path of service to God and His people.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Monsignor George Muthaka, Bishop of the Diocese of Garissa, who in his homily exhorted the newly ordained to remain faithful to their vocation and to serve the people of God with humility, love, and dedication.
This joyful occasion is not only a blessing for the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, but also a gift for the entire Church. We thank God for the gift of these three new deacons and pray that Christ the Redeemer will guide, sustain, and accompany them in their faithful service to His people.
Through the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, may they continue to grow in holiness and generosity in their vocation.
