As Clonard began its observance of the Season of Creation 2026, the faithful were invited to reflect on this year’s theme, Living Water, and the shared responsibility to care for our common home.
Before the Sunday Masses, the congregation listened to the words of Pope Leo and took time to pray and reflect on the theme of Living Water, recognising water as a precious gift and a sign of God’s life-giving presence in creation.
During Mass, Fr Brendan Kelly C.Ss.R., Rector of Clonard, reflected on the prophet Ezekiel and the Gospel. He invited the congregation to recognise God’s life-giving presence and to think, reflect, and pray about how each person can better care for creation and the world entrusted to humanity.
Everyone was also invited to take home a small bottle of holy water—a simple yet meaningful reminder of God’s living presence in their lives and of water as a precious source of life.
As the Season of Creation continues, the community at Clonard is encouraged to grow in gratitude for the gifts of creation and to become more mindful of its responsibility to protect and care for our common home.
May this Season of Creation inspire all people to cherish the gift of living water and to care for our common home.
