The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer has a new Postulator General. Father Francesco Visciano, C.Ss.R., of the Province of Europe South, has been appointed by the General Government of the Congregation to undertake this service. The appointment was subsequently confirmed by the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints on 9 September 2026.

Born in Torre Annunziata (Italy) on 16 April 1976, Fr. Visciano grew up in Boscotrecase, where he discerned and developed his Redemptorist vocation through youth and vocation ministry while being involved with the formation community of Colle Sant’Alfonso. In 1990, he entered the Congregation’s postulancy; he completed his novitiate in Teano and made his first religious profession on 29 September 1997. Following his missionary experience in Madagascar, he was ordained a priest on 29 June 2002.

Throughout his ministry, he has served in various pastoral roles in the Redemptorist communities of Materdomini, Ciorani, Schiavonea di Corigliano Calabro, and Corato, dedicating himself especially to youth and vocation ministry, popular missions, preaching, and parish ministry. Since 2015, he has served as Superior of the Community and Parish Priest of San Gerardo Parish in Corato; since 2023, he has also served as community bursar.

His pastoral experience has also been enriched through his contributions to various publications and resources for Redemptorist Youth and Vocation Ministry, as well as through the preparation of biblical reflections published in magazines and pastoral resources.

In assuming the role of Postulator General, Fr. Francesco Visciano is called to place his pastoral experience and Redemptorist spirit at the service of the Congregation and the Church, particularly in the field of the Causes of Saints.

The Redemptorist family expresses its prayerful support and closeness to Fr. Francesco and wishes him a fruitful ministry in this new mission, entrusting his service to the intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, and the Saints and Blesseds of the Congregation.
