“He called me by name.”

With immense joy and profound gratitude to God, the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Perpetual Help celebrated the 50th anniversary of the consecrated life of our beloved Sister, Consuelo Morales. Fifty years of fidelity, dedication, and love for the Lord.

On August 15, 1976, Sister Consuelo generously responded to God’s call and sealed a covenant with Him that, for over five decades, has been renewed daily with a heart ready to serve.

“He called me by name” was the motto that illuminated this Jubilee celebration: an expression that captures the mystery of every vocation, because God calls in a personal way, pronounces our name, and invites us to walk with Him.

Fifty years of a yes

Fifty years of a yes spoken with faith and sustained with love. Fifty years spent walking with Christ, sharing his joys and challenges, trusting in his presence, and allowing ourselves to be transformed by his grace.

Fifty years of belonging to a religious family, experiencing fraternity, mission, and service as concrete expressions of love for God and our brothers and sisters. Fifty years under the maternal protection of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, learning from Mary to remain faithful, to have faith, and to say every day: “Here I am, Lord.”

A Thanksgiving Celebration

The joy of this anniversary became prayer at the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving, celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in San José Parish, Palencia, Guatemala. Family members, sisters of the community, friends, and members of the Church gathered to give thanks for the gift of Sister Consuelo’s vocation and for these fifty years of generous dedication to the service of the Lord and his Church.

After the Eucharistic celebration, a fraternal reception was shared in the Sala del Café Silva, where the joy of this encounter and thanksgiving for a life given to God continued.

Thank you for your loyalty

Dear Sister Consuelo, today we give thanks for your life, for your vocation, and for each of the steps you have taken over these fifty years. We thank you for your yes, for your perseverance, for your service, for your witness, and for all the good the Lord has accomplished through you. May God continue to sustain you on your journey and renew each day the joy of your consecration. May Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, continue to accompany you and cover you with her maternal protection. May these 50 years be not only a grateful look back, but also a song of hope for the future.

Thank you, Sister. Consuelo, for these 50 years of saying yes! 50 years walking with Christ! 50 years of dedication and faithfulness! 50 years as a Missionary Sister of Perpetual Help! May the answer of that August 15, 1976, continue to resonate today with the same strength and generosity: “Here I am, Lord, to do your will.”
