Sadly it is announced that Fr. Francis Alex Okafor, C.Ss.R. drowned on August 15, at Ibeshe Beach, Lagos (Nigeria)
Our Redemptorist confréres in Nigeria have asked all to join in prayer for our young brother who ministered in the parish of St. Stephen’s, Catholic Church at Agboju in Lagos. He was ordained last July 4, 2015.
Fr. Henry Omeike, C.Ss.R., the Vice Provincial Secretary, writes, “Our prayers are needed at this moment for us Redemptorists and for his family. The solidarity offered by the brothers at this time of sadness has been admirable and we will need more of this in the coming days”
Fr. General also writes:
“Let us pray for our brother Francis-Alex. May he rest in peace. May his confreres and family know the peace and comfort that only God can bring.”
