70 years of Rádio Aparecida

(São Paulo, Brazil) Rádio Aparecida marks 70 years of evangelization this September. To commemorate, the magazine Informativo da Provincia (issue 274) brings special content on this anniversary. The publication of the Redemptorist Missionaries of the Province of São Paulo recalls the history of RA from the beginning, its development and consolidation among the largest means of Catholic communication in Brazil.

Father José Inácio de Medeiros, C.Ss.R., director of Rádio Aparecida, tells this story from 8 September 1951, when RA was officially inaugurated. Readers of the magazine will also be able to consult the testimonies of those who have worked and done much for the expansion of the radio station.

It is imposible to talk about Rádio Aparecida without remembering Servant of God, Fr. Vítor Coelho de Almeida, C.Ss.R. This Redemptorist Missionary was a great catechist and radio anchor. The newsletter higlights Fr. Vitor’s role as a briliant radio personality and brings update on his case in the perspective of possible future beatification.
