4 June 2023 was a special day for the Szczecinek Holy Spirit Parish. We celebrated the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the church and the 50th anniversary of the parish. The Jubilee Mass was presided over by Msgr. Krzysztof Zadarko, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Koszalin-Kołobrzeg, Poland.

Our celebration was attended by Mother Agnieszka Krauz, provincial superior Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Dębica, and sisters who have been working and used to work in our parish. There were also representatives of the civil authorities, uniformed services, school principals, and representatives of several organisations and companies from the city.

In his homily, the Bishop shared reflection on the mystery of the Church, which was given to us by the Triune God and into which we entered through Holy Baptism. Bishop spoke about the Church – the one made of bricks and the one that is the Mystical Body of Christ. The preacher led us through the history of the church and the Szczecin Redemptorist community. He mentioned the many Redemptorists who used to work in the parish and noted the numerous works accomplished over the years.

At the end of the Mass, Fr Dariusz Paszyński CSsR, provincial superior, handed over diplomas to the new oblates – Marianna and Feliks Radzymiński, Lidia and Marian Duchnowicz, Dorota Szpernalowska, Stefan Przyborek and Szymon Cieślar who are the first oblates in the history of our religious house in Szczecinek.

After the solemn blessing, the Bishop blessed a commemorative plaque located at the entrance to the church.

Fr. Arkadiusz Sojka CSsR,
