With great joy, the Redemptorist confreres sent by the General Government were welcomed: Fr. Nicolás Ayouba, General Consultor; Fr. Gerardo Hernández, Executive Secretary for Formation; Fr. Cristian Bueno, Executive Secretary for Evangelization; and Fr. Andrzej Kukla, Assistant to the Procurator General, who began their canonical visit to the Redemptorist Province of Bolivia-Peru.
This fraternal visit aims to animate the life and mission of the Congregation. It will take place, as planned, from February 5 to March 5, 2025. During this period, the Visitors delegated by the General Government will visit the communities and apostolic works of the entire Province, sharing fraternal life and evaluating the progress of the young Province, erected just over a year ago.
This canonical and fraternal visit is a time of grace, of encounter and community discernment; it promotes fidelity to the Redemptorist charism and mission and invites us to reinvigorate our commitment to serve the most needy, the poor. We trust in the fruits that the presence of the confreres from the General Government will bring us: a new missionary impulse, the strengthening of fraternal life, a greater participation of the laity in the Redemptorist mission.
During the first stage of the visit, from February 5 to 16, the Visitors will focus on the 12 communities and the various apostolates in Peru. In the second stage, from February 17 to March 5, the canonical visit will move to Bolivia, where the Visitors will continue the visit to the 9 communities and the various apostolates.
In both stages, they will meet their confreres, visit the apostolic works, and share fraternal life. It will be a precious and fruitful moment to evaluate the path of the mission, to share experiences and challenges and to discern together how to continue to serve the people for whom we were sent as Redemptorists, missionaries of Hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer.
At the end of the visit, from February 25 to 28, the Provincial Assembly 2025 will be held in Cochabamba, an important event in which the Rev. Father General Rogerio Gomes will participate.
We invite the entire Redemptorist Family and the friends of the Congregation to join in praying for the fruits of this Canonical Visit. May the Holy Spirit enlighten the Visiting Fathers and the communities, so that this time may be a true Kairos of grace for the Province of Bolivia-Peru and may Our Lady of Perpetual Help, help us to always abandon ourselves to the greatness of the Lord.
