Reflection, training, and planning

Bogota, March 4, 2025 – The Redemptorists held a significant meeting that brought together superiors, parish priests and treasurers to reflect on community life, parish mission and finance management. The event, held from February 25 to 28, was characterized by an atmosphere of fraternal dialogue, in-depth formation, and strategic planning.

Tuesday 25 February: Meeting of Superiors

The meeting began with the Eucharistic celebration in the parish church, followed by a moment of prayer and dialogue on community life. The day included a training entitled “Hope versus Despair in Religious Life” and the presentation of relevant topics, including the Community Life Project, canonical visits, audits, statutes, the strategic alliance of the San Alphonsus University Foundation, the report on social pastoral care, the provincial economic report and training.

Wednesday 26 February: Parish Priests Meeting

The parish priests participated in the reflection with the Eucharistic celebration and a dialogue on parish life. The training focused on “The parish, a privileged space for pastoral encounter, life and action.” In addition, the theme “Meaning and task of Redemptorist parishes” was presented  and various aspects of pastoral care were discussed.

Thursday 27 February: Meeting of Parish Priests and Treasurers

Finance management was the focus of this day, with the participation of experts in tax matters, DTCD (National Tax and Customs Directorate) sanctions, management systems and labour legislation. Participants received up-to-date information and tools for efficient resource management.

Friday 28 February: Approval of the Budgets

The meeting concluded with the approval of the budgets, a crucial step for the planning and execution of local community projects.

A space for reflection and planning

The meeting allowed the confreres to strengthen fraternal bonds, deepen their formation and strategically plan the future of our communities. Reflection on community life, parish mission and finance management will allow us to serve the Church and society more effectively.
