On March 10, 2025, the Redemptorist Family was filled with joy and hope with the Perpetual Profession of Brother Fermín B. Guevarra, C.Ss.R., celebrated in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This special occasion marked a milestone in Brother Fermín’s life and in the history of our province.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Superior General, Fr. Rogério Gomes, C.Ss.R., and was attended by the four Visitors: Fr. Piotr, C.Ss.R., Brother Larry, C.Ss.R., Fr. Julio César, C.Ss.R., and Fr. Francisco Stanula, C.Ss.R., who carried out the fraternal visit on behalf of the Redemptorist General Government during the month of February and the first week of March. Also present were the Provincial Superior, Fr. Raphael Thierry, C.Ss.R., the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Felipe Santiago, C.Ss.R., the Provincial Council, and a large group of confreres who participated in the assembly and in this celebration full of faith and hope.
It should be noted that the province encompasses 11 countries whose political, social, and immigration situations make it difficult for all members to attend in person. Therefore, the province is turning to technology to facilitate the gathering as a Redemptorist Family, allowing the brothers to unite and celebrate through virtual platforms.
A particularly moving moment occurred at the end of the ceremony, when Brother Fermín offered a few words of gratitude and reflection to Father General, saying, “I am convinced that I am ready to live the mission and the Redemptorist life. The formation has been key, and I am grateful for the process.” These words resonated deeply with those present, reaffirming the commitment and hope that inspire their vocation.
During the celebration, the Provincial superior announced that Brother Fermín, C.Ss.R., will be assigned to the Redemptorist mission in Cuba, where he will work alongside Father José Arraya, C.Ss.R., and Father Máximo De Los Santos, C.Ss.R., who is the superior of the mission in that region.
For those who were unable to attend this event, we invite you to relive this moment of unity and brotherhood by visiting the Province’s YouTube channel (MRedemptoristas). There you can enjoy this special celebration that strengthens our sense of community and hope.
We thank everyone for their prayers and invite you to continue praying for Brother Fermín, C.Ss.R., and for all the consecrated Redemptorists who are part of our province. May Brother Fermín’s example inspire many more to respond generously to the Redeemer’s call!
