At the end of the canonical-fraternal visit of the General Government, from 25 to 28 February, the second Assembly of the reconfigured Bolivia-Peru Unity was held in Cochabamba.
Fr. Rogério Gomes, the Superior General, was present on Thursday 27th and delivered a message to the Assembly, where he thanked the communities for the preparation, the development of the canonical visit and the hospitality of the communities with the visitors. Fr. Rogério gave a message of encouragement in the context of the restructuring and its intrinsic challenges. He spoke on the topics of Redemptorist mission and identity, leadership, formation, and finances, offering some suggestions in these areas. After Rogerio’s message, the Visitors also gave their impressions and suggestions to the members of the Assembly.
The work of the Assembly participants had a special emphasis on the elaboration of the provincial statutes. Reports were also presented by the Provincial and the secretariats of Economy, Shared Mission, Training and Education Commission.
As part of the Assembly program, the perpetual profession of junior student Ronald Agapito Bolivar Aparicio was celebrated on the 27th. The family and friends of the professed student were present. The entire Assembly was characterized by an atmosphere of fraternity and enthusiasm for the projections and possibilities of the new restructured Unit.
