We, the Redemptorist family, celebrate the feast of St. Clement Maria Hofbauer on the 15th of March every year. Therefore, to celebrate the feast in a meaningful way, we invite you to reflect on the life and ministry of a great Saint in this Jubilee year as Missionary of Hope.
The Triduum will be preached by Fr. Ivel Mendanha, CSsR, General Consultor. So, each of these days, we will reflect on the following themes.
Day 1: St. Clement a pilgrim of Hope
The Life of St Clement Maria Hofbauer is a shining example of one who was a pilgrim of Hope. As we journey through the Jubilee Year, the Holy year with the theme Pilgrims of Hope we turn our attention on this the first day of our Triduum in preparation for the feast of St Clement to the important theme of Hope in the life of St Clement and in our own lives as Christians and as Redemptorist Missionaries of Hope in the footsteps of the Redeemer.
It is in this context we reflect today on St. Clement Maria Hobauer as a pilgrim of Hope. He knew what it was to hope, and he never gave up despite the many challenges and obstacles that he had to endure all his life. Let us reflect on a few of them.
Day 2: St. Clement a Missionary of Hope
Clement was a Courageous Missionary of Hope showing through his life example that the Church can truly live its true calling to be simple, a Church of the poor and for the poor and most abandoned.
Day 3: St. Clement and sources of his Hope
On the third day of our Triduum, we reflect on the sources of Hope in St. Clement’s life. We are aware that one does not become a hope-filled person but grows into the spirit of Hope. We enumerate a few of the sources of Hope in St. Clement’s life that enabled him to grow into a hope-filled Redemptorist Missionary.

As Redemptorists we begin the year of Mission and St Clement is a great example of a Mystic in Action, an example of being a Missionary and Pilgrim of Hope. The great work which God had entrusted to Clement was to establish the Congregation beyond the Alps. He preached the Gospel in a new way and invites us to preach the Good News anew in our situations.
