A book written by Fr. Amado “Picx” Picardal, was launched at the Redemptorists in Cebu City on Thursday, May 29, on his first death anniversary.

On May 29, 2025 The Redemptorists of Cebu Province and the lay faithful gathered at the Holy Redeemer Provincial Center, for the deeply moving launch of “The Beloved”, a memoir lovingly compiled from the journals, diaries, and letters of the late Fr. Amado “Picx” Picardal, C.Ss.R. Bro. Karl Gaspar, C.Ss.R., a dear friend of Fr. Picx, shared with us the powerful story behind the book—how Fr. Picx had asked him to publish it only after his passing.

After listening to some excerpts and reading the pages (one can purchase the book at PhP 500), we could say that “The Beloved” is more than just a memoir; it’s a window into the heart and soul of a man who touched many lives. The event was not only inspiring but also profoundly emotional for the Redemptorist community, Fr. Picx’s family, and close friends who were with us.

The launch was followed by a Mass at 5:30 PM, offered as a tribute to Fr. Picx’s enduring legacy of faith, compassion, and service.

Truly, The Beloved lives up to its name.
