The Sacred Heart Church, Nagavalli, was filled with faith, colour, and joy as the parish community came together to celebrate the grand Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on 6th of July at Nagavalli. This spiritual event, held from July 3 to July 6, drew hundreds of faithful from the village and surrounding areas.
The celebrations began with the flag hoisting ceremony on July 3, marking the start of the three-day Novena in honour of the Sacred Heart. Each day of the novena was marked by prayer, lively participation, and heartfelt preaching. Fr. Robin Kumar C.Ss.R. led the novena sermons, whose inspiring and thought-provoking reflections prepared the faithful for the feast. His powerful preaching touched on the love, mercy, and compassion that flow from the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
A special highlight of the novena was the beautiful car procession held on the third day, which saw the image of the Sacred Heart carried reverently through the streets of Nagavalli. Villagers lined the roads, singing hymns, lighting candles, and expressing their devotion with joy and reverence. The procession was a moving witness of the deep faith rooted in the hearts of the people.
The feast day on July 6 was the high point of the celebration. Around 23 priests joined the faithful for the Solemn Festal High Mass, making it a truly memorable and grace-filled occasion. Fr. Christopher P. was the main celebrant, leading the Eucharist with deep reverence and festal spirit. The meaningful liturgy, vibrant choir, and active participation of the laity made the celebration rich in both faith and fellowship.
Fr. Anthony Swamy C.Ss.R., the present parish priest, meticulously organized the entire event, ensuring that every detail was prayerfully and beautifully arranged. His leadership and pastoral care were deeply appreciated by the parishioners.
The celebration saw an impressive participation of about 600 people, both during the novena days and the feast day. The event was not just a spiritual moment but also a joyful gathering of the community united in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The Sacred Heart Feast at Nagavalli once again reminded all present of the unfailing love of Christ and the strength of a faith-filled community journeying together in hope and unity.
