From October 12 to 24, 2025, the parish of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in the department of Tarija, Bolivia, experienced an intense spiritual experience with the Popular Mission. Organized by the Redemptorist missionary team “San Clemente” of the Bolivia-Peru Province, the mission took place under the motto: “We are the living hope of a Church on the move.”
Seven Redemptorist priests, a seminarian in his pastoral year, and eight religious sisters from various Congregations participated in the mission. Their commitment and availability were crucial to the success of this initiative, which aimed to strengthen faith and unity within the parish community.
The parish was divided into seven mission centers, each of which followed a common program: the rosary at dawn in the streets, and the Eucharist with special signs and themes for each day. Throughout the day, missionaries and lay people visited families, praying and blessing their homes. The mission also extended to public and private institutions within the parish.
Among the most significant moments we remember:
- Collective celebrations: Eucharist of missionary sending, Marian celebration, celebration for the deceased, for the sick, penitential, youth.
- Stations of the Cross through the streets of the parish.
- Eucharist of thanksgiving at the end of the 15-day mission.
As a result, 15 family assemblies have been formed in the various mission centers, which will continue to meet in homes together with the lay missionaries of the parish.
We entrust all this missionary work to the intercession of Mother of Perpetual Help and thank the Redemptorist priests for their commitment. May this experience be an incentive to continue building a Church on the move.
