The Anjukottai Community joyfully joined the entire Redemptorist family across the world in celebrating the 293rd Foundation Day of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (CSsR) on November 9, 2025. This year’s celebration was particularly meaningful as it coincided with the 300th Birth Anniversary of Saint Gerard Majella, our beloved patron, and the Vocation Day of the Anjukottai Mission.
The day’s celebration was marked with faith, joy, and gratitude for the Redemptorist vocation that continues to inspire and transform lives. To mark this special occasion, the community introduced several new spiritual and formative initiatives for the children of the parish:
A. Holy Hour for Children – Beginning this month, every alternate week after Holy Mass, a special Eucharistic Adoration will be held exclusively for children. This initiative aims to nurture in them a deeper love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to help them grow in faith from a young age.
B. Quiz Program on Redemptorist Saints – A catechetical quiz on Redemptorist Saints was conducted for children, helping them learn about the rich spiritual legacy of our Congregation and the inspiring lives of our saints and blessed members.
C. Baptism in Honor of St. Gerard Majella – The celebration reached a touching moment when a child was baptized in honor of St. Gerard Majella, in thanksgiving for the blessings received by the parents through his intercession.
The day concluded with prayers of thanksgiving for the vision of St. Alphonsus Liguori, the founder of the Redemptorists, whose missionary zeal continues to guide the Congregation even after 293 years. The Anjukottai community looks forward to continuing its mission of preaching the Gospel ever anew, inspired by the example of St. Alphonsus and St. Gerard.
Fr. Michael Kasper, CSsR.
