From April 13 to 16, we celebrated the 2026 Provincial Assembly at Casa Marianella in Atyrá, Paraguay. This is one of four assemblies of the Pedro Donders Province. The first was held in Chile, and the next ones will be held in Resistencia, Argentina, and La Plata, Argentina.
This assembly was an opportunity for dialogue, prayer, reflection, discernment, and fraternal sharing. We discussed the community, missionary, and economic dimensions of our Province’s journey. We reflected on the conclusions presented in the General Government’s Fraternal Visit Report.
We had the opportunity to present the Provincial Apostolic Plan developed by the Province’s Secretariat for Evangelization. We reflected on missionary and apostolic priorities, new missionary challenges, and our missionary presence in schools and colleges. We discussed apostolic and community planning, as well as the shared mission with the Redemptoristine Sisters.
We discussed the challenges facing the provincial economy, economics and sustainability, economics and transparency, and the possibilities for better leveraging the resources we have in the Province.
These were days of intense work on these aspects and on the challenges of our provincial life, but always in a fraternal and cordial atmosphere where everyone had the opportunity to share their concerns, ideas, dreams, and hopes.
Fr. Leonardo Valdez, CSsR.
