From July 6 to 10, the Motherhouse of Perpetual Help in Goiânia hosted the National Meeting of Redemptorist Juniorate. Organized by the Province of Brasilia, the meeting brought together religious from that province and the other two Brazilian provinces, Curitiba and Nossa Senhora Aparecida, around the theme “The Challenges and Hopes of the New Generations of Redemptorist Missionaries.”
The Motherhouse of Perpetual Help in Goiânia hosted the National Meeting of Redemptorist Juniorate from July 6 to 10. Organized by the Province of Brasilia, the meeting brought together religious from that province and the other Brazilian provinces of Curitiba and Nossa Senhora Aparecida. For five days, the participants reflected on the theme “The Challenges and Hopes of the New Generations of Redemptorist Missionaries.”
Brothers Jean Jacob Vincent CSsR, Jean Wilnaud Déïssaint CSsR, and Lovinsky Junior Jean CSsR, from the Province of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Central America, who are currently engaged in their pastoral internship in Brazil also took part in the meeting.
The discussions were facilitated by Fr. Diego Joaquim CSsR and Fr. Jadeilson Santos CSsR, both of them work in the communications field, including Rádio Difusora of Goiânia and TV Pai Eterno.
In addition to the presentations, the juniors visited the Shrine of the Divine Eternal Father and the city of Pirenópolis.
In the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, juniors are religious who have professed their first vows and are pursuing academic studies in preparation for perpetual profession. The juniorate is a fruitful time for living out their religious consecration: during this period, in addition to studying, religious experience pastoral immersion among the people and community life.
The meeting between the religious of the three Brazilian provinces was an opportunity to strengthen fraternal bonds and reflect with enthusiasm and hope on the new challenges of the mission.
In his message to the juniors, the Superior General, Fr. Rogério Gomes CSsR, expressed his hope that these days would be marked by fraternity, the sharing of lived experiences, prayer, and the strengthening of the bonds that unite the brothers of the various formation communities and provinces. “We are called to continually discern how to live the Gospel and the Redemptorist charism faithfully, creatively, and meaningfully for the men and women of our time,” he stated.
At the end of the meeting, the juniors chose the Province of Nossa Senhora Aparecida as the venue for the next national meeting.
