“Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.” (Psalm 104:30)
A new chapter of faith, hope, and formation began for the Bangalore Province of the Redemptorists as 32 young students gathered at Sadupadesa Vidyalaya, Bangalore, on 14 July 2026, for the inauguration of the new academic and formation year.
The day began with the Holy Eucharist of the Holy Spirit, celebrated by Fr. Edward Joseph, C.Ss.R., Provincial Superior, who warmly welcomed the new students to their new home and the Redemptorist family. In his homily, he encouraged them to embrace this formative journey with openness, generosity, and trust in God’s providence. Reflecting on the loving presence of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, he reminded the students that Mary would be their constant companion through every joy and challenge as they discern God’s call.
This year, 20 new students from different states across India have joined the Bangalore Province, bringing the total strength of the Juvenate to 32 students. Among them, 20 students are enrolled in the English Learning Programme, 11 are pursuing I PUC, and 1 student is studying II PUC. Their presence reflects the rich diversity of the Province and the continuing growth of Redemptorist vocations.
At the conclusion of the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Provincial entrusted the students to the care of Fr. A. S. Raja, C.Ss.R., Director of Sadupadesa Vidyalaya, and the Redemptorist community, expressing his confidence that they would accompany the young men with prayer, guidance, and fraternal support as they grow in faith, character, and missionary zeal.
In his vote of thanks, Fr. A. S. Raja, C.Ss.R., expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Provincial for his fatherly concern and special interest in fostering young vocations. He also thanked the Redemptorist community, staff, and students for their patience, generosity, and dedication in preparing for the new academic year and warmly welcoming the newcomers.
Following the Mass, Fr. Provincial spent time interacting with the students in a spirit of fraternity, encouraging them to make the most of these formative years through prayer, study, community life, and personal growth.
As these young men begin their journey of discernment and formation, we entrust them to the loving care of Our Mother of Perpetual Help and seek the prayers of all the faithful. May the Holy Spirit guide them to become joyful Redemptorist missionaries, proclaiming the Good News to the most abandoned and bearing witness to the abundant redemption of Christ.
