The Redemptorist Community and the faithful of Holy Redeemer Parish, Ambala, joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer on the Third Sunday of July 2026. This feast holds special significance for our parish because our church is dedicated to the Holy Redeemer, the patron and titular name of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists).
The celebration was a memorable occasion filled with prayer, faith, culture, and fellowship. Parishioners from different communities gathered in large numbers to honor Christ the Redeemer and to thank God for His abundant blessings upon the parish.
The festivities began with a warm and colorful welcome for the chief celebrant, His excellency Sahaya Thadeus Thomas, Bishop of the Diocese of Simla-Chandigarh. The parishioners received the Bishop with traditional folk dances that reflected the rich cultural heritage of the local community. The rhythmic sounds of the Nagada and Mandar drums created an atmosphere of joy and celebration. The vibrant music and dancing drew enthusiastic participation, making the arrival procession a truly festive and unforgettable experience.
Following the welcome, the faithful gathered for the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Bishop Sahaya Thadeus Thomas. In his homily, the Bishop reflected on the love of Christ the Redeemer, who came into the world to bring salvation, hope, and mercy to all people. He encouraged the faithful to deepen their relationship with Christ and to become witnesses of His redeeming love in their families and communities. The liturgy was prayerful and uplifting, with active participation from parishioners, parish organizations, and members of the Redemptorist community. The celebration highlighted the unity of the parish family and its commitment to living out the mission of Christ the Redeemer.
After the Holy Mass, a festive fellowship meal was organized for everyone. The entire parish community then moved to the school grounds, where people gathered for fellowship, conversation, and joyful celebration. The meal provided an opportunity for parishioners, guests, and clergy to strengthen bonds of friendship and community spirit.
The Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer was truly a grand and grace-filled celebration. It reminded all present of God’s redeeming love and of the special mission entrusted to the Redemptorist family: to proclaim the Good News of abundant redemption to all, especially those most in need.
The Redemptorist Community of Ambala Parish expresses its sincere gratitude to Bishop Sahaya Thadeus Thomas for his presence and pastoral guidance, to all parishioners for their enthusiastic participation, and to the many volunteers whose dedicated efforts made the celebration a great success.
