From July 17–19, 2026, the Seton House of Prayer and Retreat House in Kelowna, British Columbia, hosted a Vocation Discernment Weekend organized by the Redemptorists. The retreat invited young men who are discerning their future and seeking a deeper understanding of God’s plan for their lives.
Led by Fr. Ivan Dzhur, C.Ss.R., the weekend offered participants an opportunity to prayerfully reflect on the possibility of a vocation as a Redemptorist brother or priest. Through moments of prayer, personal reflection, group discussions, and fraternity, participants were encouraged to listen attentively to God’s voice and to consider how they might respond to His call.
The retreat was designed as a welcoming and supportive experience for those who are curious about religious life as well as for those already seriously discerning a vocation. Participants were introduced to the Redemptorist way of life and mission, learning more about the Congregation’s commitment to proclaiming the Gospel and serving those most in need.
The weekend concluded with gratitude and joy as twelve participants completed the retreat experience. It was truly a grace-filled time marked by prayer, reflection, meaningful conversations, and fraternity. Together, the participants explored what it means to follow Christ more closely and discern God’s call with openness and courage.
The Redemptorist community extends its heartfelt thanks to all who attended and generously shared in the experience. Appreciation is also extended to the many people whose prayers, encouragement, and support contributed to the success of the weekend.
As these young men continue their discernment journey, we ask the faithful to keep them in their prayers. May St. Alphonsus Liguori and Our Mother of Perpetual Help accompany and guide them as they seek to discover God’s will for their lives. May the Lord continue to bless all those who are searching for a deeper purpose and striving to follow Him more closely.
