A week of celebrations concluded marking the 60th anniversary of the crowning of the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Bardo at the Metropolitan Shrine of Our Lady, Guardian of the Holy Faith—entrusted to the Redemptorists in the Diocese of Świdnica in Bardo, Lower Silesia. The program was conducted by the shrine fathers in collaboration with the local administration, included solemn liturgical celebrations, a procession along the Rosary Trails, concerts, cultural events, and a historical conference.
The program of the Jubilee Week
The week opened on Sunday, June 28, with “Bardzkie Lato Organowe” (Bardo Organ Summer), a concert featuring organist Maciej Bator and the NaStroje ensemble (Paweł Kopeć, accordion and hurdy-gurdy; Bartłomiej Pacan, cello and vocals; Julia Topolanek-Pacan, vocals and violin), with the special participation of Robert Bachara on viola d’amore.
On Monday, June 29, Holy Mass was celebrated, broadcast on TV Trwam and Radio Maryja, with Bishop Marek Mendyk, Ordinary of Świdnica, presiding.
On Thursday, July 2, Archbishop Mieczysław Mokrzycki, Metropolitan of Lviv, presided over the solemn Mass, followed by a procession along the Rosary Paths.
On Friday, July 3, Archbishop Mokrzycki presided over the Jubilee Mass, with the participation of the Metropolitan bishops of Wrocław. In his homily, the prelate invited the faithful to join in his prayer to Our Lady of Bardo for an end to discord and strife. The day concluded with a concert of praise led by Patrycja Grzelaczyk-Korchan and guests.
On Saturday, July 4, the sculpture of Christ Crucified on the Stone Bridge (Most Kamienny) was blessed, followed by a concert by the Arka Noego group.
On Sunday, July 5, the final day of the Jubilee, the solemn Holy Mass was presided over by Msgr. Ignacy Dec, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Świdnica. The program also included a concert by the HASŁO Choir from Poznań and a lecture by Fr. Mirosław Grakowicz, C.Ss.R., entitled “60 Years Since the Coronation of the Statue of Our Lady of Bardo.”
